Successful women seeking a love connection prefer conservative men to their liberal counterparts, according to figures released last week by an online dating service MillionaireMatch.
MillionaireMatch.com, which bills itself as the “world’s largest dating site for highly successful people who are seeking a long-term relationship,” found that millionaire singles of both sexes were more attracted to conservatives than liberals.
For women, however, the preference for right-tilting men was stronger. Forty percent of single women verified as millionaires surveyed said they preferred to be matched with a conservative, while 38.5 percent said they wanted a moderate guy. Just 15 percent asked to be paired with a liberal or very liberal man.
Single men surveyed by the matchmaking site preferred women who were politically moderate to both conservatives and liberals. The site found that 37 percent favored moderate or “middle of the road” women, while 29 percent were most attracted to conservative women and 22 percent to women who were liberal or very liberal.
In both cases, the singles may have been trying to cast a wider net, given that men are more likely to register Republican and women are more likely to identify as Democrats. Still, the results weren’t particularly encouraging for single liberals of either sex.
