Avalanche LLC. has acquired Golfmates.com, a online dating website for single golf enthusiasts. Golfmates is the first sports themed dating site to join Avalanche’s roster of 18 niche and general online dating websites, which includes Date.com, Matchmaker.com, and Amor.com, among others. Avalanche continues to seek out strategic acquisitions of niche online dating sites, with Golfmates representing the third acquisition the Company has made in the last 18 months.
Upon taking ownership of the site, Avalanche redesigned and relaunched Golfmates on the Company’s proprietary platform. The site now includes a unique matching system, and also allows members to search through all members within its community who have expressed an interest in golf. Additionally, Avalanche began cross promoting the site on its general online dating sites, including Date.com and Matchmaker.com, which has resulted in an increase in both membership and traffic to Golfmates.
